What's this all about? This is a next gen game based around the DC comics universe. It's set thirty years after the Blackest Night storyline, and involves a world without the Justice League and where there are massive restrictions placed on vigilantes specifically, and superheroes in general. The game focuses on the next generation of superheroes. What's the setting for the game? The setting is the DC universe. Anywhere in the world you want your characters to be. These are superheroes who can fly at the speed of light or take a superfast car or a jet. There's no limit to where anyone can be. This game is set post Blackest Night, and we're assuming that everyone who died in that storyline came back to life. It's thirty years after the end of that storyline, in the year 2040. Who can I play? Since the game's focus is on the next generation of superheroes, most of the characters should be original, next-gen creations. Any hero that was alive at the end of Infinite Crisis is available to act as a parent. Be realistic. Batman's not going to have twenty kids with twenty different mothers. Some canon characters are also available for play, but please check with the mods! Can I play a bad guy? Definitely. You can play a bad guy, a child of the bad guys, a good guy gone bad, or just a straight up good guy. We're not picky here, and we can always find a way to work it into the plot. The pairing I want is taken! What do I do? Before you hold the pairing you want, check with the mods or with the person who has the original hold. If they agree to siblings, then that's wonderful. If not, you will need to find a new pairing. Some people don't want their kids to have siblings. This goes for canon characters as well. If Jason Todd's player says that Jason doesn't have kids, then Jason doesn't have kids. On the other hand, pairings will not be negated just because someone wants to bring in Batman without kids, okay? What sort of powers can my kid have? Anything listed here. Kids do not have to have the same exact powers as their parents, and in some cases, it would be impossible. For example, the Green Lantern power ring is not hereditary, and there's nothing to say that Hal Jordan's kid is going to be good enough to wear it. What's the deal with the superhero teams? Does the Justice League exist? Not technically. One of the big plots in the game will be recruiting and reforming the JLA with the new generation of heroes. There's also a new Teen Titans team, based out of Gotham City. If you'd like to have your character start their own superhero team, just let the mods know! Can I play Terry McGinnes/anyone else from Batman Beyond? No. We are a next gen game based on DC Comics, not the DC animated universe. Is there a character age limit? Most characters should be under thirty, but if you can come up with a good reason they would be thirty or over, let us know! We're flexible on that to a degree. What's the posting limit? There isn't one, but I need to see something out of you within a week of joining the game. This could be a thread, a narrative, a journal entry, a comment. I only need to see proof that you are actually going to be active. What's the character limit? Right now, four. Canon characters do not count toward this limit, but since this is not a canon game, please do not bog yourself down with canons. How do the journals work in-game? Years ago, after the death of Bruce Wayne, Oracle instituted a journal network in order to remain in contact with what was left of the League and to try and stop Damian Wayne when he took over as Batman. Anyone can access this network, so characters should be very careful with secret identities since "anyone" might include potential bad guys. What are the communities for? moderngods is the main community. All third-person roleplaying should be posted here, be it threads, narratives, or logs. mgooc is the out of character. Anything from hiatus notices to scene request can go here. If you do need a hiatus, let the mods know first. There's nothing ruder than someone leaving a game and the mod getting blindsided with it. godlines is the storyline community. Feel free to use this before and after you've been accepted.
